I use the Sociable WordPress plugin on both of my active blogs. I like it a lot. Its clean, easy to use and visually interesting. I was having trouble getting the layout to work right with this blog’s template, so I emailed the developer with a question.

Usually when I have emailed other plugin developers, it has taken a couple days to get a response, and sometimes there’s been no response at all. The times that I have gotten a response, it has often been terse and unhelpful. So with some trepidation, I asked Joost my question.

Surprisingly, Joost got back to me within minutes of my email with a solution to try. It didn’t work, so I apologetically replied again asking for more help. Again, he immediately replied with another solution to try. We ended up emailing back and forth about 9 times before my problem was solved. And solve it, he did.

It was great to work with a developer that wasn’t offended by a user having questions about his product.
