UPDATE: Serenity, Shindig, War Stories and The Train Job are the episodes being watched tonight.

I’ve been a browncoat for a very long time. I didn’t watch Firefly when it aired, but somewhere around 2004 or so I was looking through the Netflix catalog for something to watch. I was looking for Farscape, but had forgotten the title. Firefly sounded close, so I bit. I was hooked pretty quickly and devastated when I found out the paltry half season was all there was. Off to the interwebs I went to find out more!

Fast forward 9 years later…We got a movie! There’s fanfic abound! (ok, ya some of its scary lol) I have Firefly on Bluray, plus a DVD copy I can loan to the uninitiated.

Tonight, in honor of the 9th anniversary of Firefly’s premiere, there is an online Firefly Watch Party. All you need to do to join is pull out your DVDs or head on over to Netflix. If you feel like conversing, about the awesome head over to the Facebook event page or the twitter hashtag #fireflyparty. There is still time to vote in the poll to figure out the 4 episodes that will be watched. The three leaders look to be Serenity, Shindig and War Stories. Sadly, my favorite episode, Out of Gas, was not in the running because it was in last year’s rewatch. *cry* I will probably watch that one anyway.
